Application to the Nursing Program

The North Park nursing major is an academically rigorous program offering outstanding clinical experiences. Admission is selective and not all students who apply are admitted, even by meeting all requirements. We accept 48 students each fall (August) and spring (January) semester.

Application Process

1. Apply to North Park University (if you’re already an NPU student, go to Step 2.)

The School of Nursing reviews applications for acceptance into the nursing program from students who have been admitted to the university.  Indicate nursing as your intended major before you register for your first semester of classes.

High-ability, first-year students have a Direct Admission option to the nursing program. Contact the admissions office at admissions@theabsolutelongestwebdomainnameinthewholegoddamnfuckinguniverse.com if you have further questions.

Transfer Students

Transfer students are welcome; however, priority is given to those who have completed more courses at North Park, as this enables us to better evaluate the education you have received.

If a student earns a C- in one of the prerequisites, that course must be repeated but may not repeat more than two (2) nursing prerequisites; only one (1) of which can be a science course. Students should review the policy with their advisor in their first academic program meeting.

Students who have been enrolled in a nursing program within the last five years will need to provide the NPU BSN and DEMSN Nursing Record Form from the chief nursing administrator of the transfer college/university with their application to the baccalaureate nursing program.

Students who were enrolled in a nursing program for more than five years must apply with a letter from the student describing why they did not complete the program, what they learned, changes made, and how they plan to succeed if accepted into the BSN program at North Park.

2. Apply to the Nursing Program

The application must be completed online one full semester before the intended start. Completion of all requirements and meeting with the pre-nursing advisor is required.

The application deadline for fall 2025 is February 15, 2025.

The fall 2025 application will open December 2024.

Nursing Program Application

To be eligible for an application review by the selection committee, a complete application packet must include the following supplemental items:

  • Resume
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination/boosters
  • Recommendation: The student must provide the name and email address of a faculty member who can speak to the student’s suitability for the nursing profession. If the applicant works in a healthcare setting, their recommender may also be their supervisor. The school will contact that individual with a recommendation request.
